Reed Options

Our standard style reed contains a parallel gouge with a pyramid trim profile. This is the standard formula used by modern day reed-makers. These reeds play with a very resonant and focused sound and respond with ease in all registers. Offered in both the Herzberg and Fox #2 shapes.

Pick whatever color you would like for the wrapping! If you have a specific color scheme you would like, feel free to contact us and we can make it happen!
If you would like a reed shape other than the Herzberg or Fox #2 shapes, contact us and we will accommodate you the best we can. We do have access to several other reed shapes.
Cane Selection
At Gambill Reeds, we believe that a great reed starts with proper cane selection. We employ a very thorough cane selection process to ensure that we get consistent and successful results. Tubes that are curved or too asymmetrical are discarded. Cane that is too soft or too hard is also discarded.
The majority of our reeds are made out of Donati, Danzi, and Rigotti cane. If you would prefer a different type of cane, please feel free to contact us and we will accommodate you to the best of our abilities.
